Back of Beyond

My first foray into the Back of Beyond genre was another of our BIG games. 14 of us went up to Fife for a weekend game last week. We used "Setting the East Ablaze" with 28mm figures. Forces consisted of Chinese, 2 German, American, Italian, 2 Bolshevik, White, Bokharan, Poles, 3 Turks one with Arab auxiliaries and one with Kurds and lastly British.
The forces were classed as C3 with a couple of C2 units. All sorts of kit was used from aeroplanes, armoured cars, armoured trains, roving mechanical engineers, tanks and even an armoured elephant with added Lewis guns.
Points were awarded for finding loot in the houses, the Opium stache and wiping out hated enemy units.
My side of the table included home made oil donkeys.
While at the other end the Warlord resided in a Japanese looking castle.
Poles and Americans in an informal truce which was broken later on.
The Turks with Kurds hold the town while I try to get to my hated enemy Bolshevik B army supported by White cavalry.
Poles and Americans turn on each other.
Italians find and hold the stache in the tower while the Bolshevik armoured train has been rammed by a runaway train. The White train takes the spur line to get to grips with the Italians and what remains of the Bolshevik b army.
Chinese wipe out the Bokarans with the German a taking on Turks with Arabs.
Ian's fancy elephant with added Lewis guns battled bravely with the German A force stampeding a couple of times and rallying.
Americans.
Turks with Kurds, German B and Whites all combined against Bolshevik B almost wiping them out.
The Turks with Kurds were leading from the start but were overtaken by the Italians when they found the stache. By the end of the weekend I think the eventual winner was the Polish force as they wiped out their hated enemy poor Bill with his Bolshevik A.
A great time again with some good mates.
