[Revisit Review]
Krzysztof Kieślowski's
Three Colors: Blue is still one of the most powerful and devastating depictions of grief, loss, and the road to recovery that I have ever seen. But even if I muted the film and completely ignored the story, the craftsmanship would amaze me every time I watched it. The cinematography? Breath-taking. The acting? Heart-breaking. I love how during moments of extreme emotion, the screen cuts to black for a few seconds as an orchestra sting plays. It’s like the audience is taking a moment alongside Julie to gather their thoughts and emotions. And, of course, there are the
colors.
