Mimi and her BFF turned 13 late last year. Sharon (BFF's mum) and I had promised them a weekend in the city just the four of us as their special treat. They've been looking forward to this weekend for about 18 months. Truthfully, this weekend has been 13 years in the making. We first met at our local Baby Health Centre when the girls were just six weeks old. Smiles plastered to our faces, desperately trying to portray an image of calm competency despite chronic sleep deprivation, boobs painfully swollen (as well as other regions), still sporting cankles and elasticised waist bands.
You make friends fast in that situation. A bond is formed by your mutual suffering and comforting words of assurance to each other...."Of course, that's COMPLETELY normal", no matter what the situation. Thank God for girlfriends.
Anyhoo, a weekend of sightseeing and shopping in the city was the request from the girls....
The magnificent Queen Victoria Building.
If you ever want the assistance of a personal shopper....can I suggest these two girls?They are not kidding around.
Thoughtfully, they allowed time for a manicure in between retail therapy.
The view from Sydney Tower over Sydney Harbour.
I am quite terrified of heights, so I was super-brave taking these. We were on the top floor of the tower. It was hilarious how many people got to the lift and asked the attendant "Is this going down?"
Okay, so I nearly asked too.
Gosh, I can't keep anything from you guys.
If you're trying to eat only low GI foods, this is the equivalent of George Clooney dripping himself in honey and saying "Don't lick me".
See in the far right hand side a wall of Lindt balls? I nearly fainted with longing.I didn't go into anaphylactic shock as feared....I just thought it was absolutely the best thing I'd ever tasted....ever. That's the beauty of deprivation, it elevates experiences you might otherwise take for granted
.
On your left, a jug of pure melted Lindt chocolate.......
In Mimi's hand, foamed to perfection, full cream milk....
In Mimi's hand, foamed to perfection, full cream milk....
Mix together and you have perfection!
{I had a quality control sip...just in case}
