I wasn't paying much attention to the news, but I did hear a bit about whether or not a certain football match would happen here hinging on whether or not our South Aussie boys would be allowed to come home from Victoria.
My opinion? I don't think they should be allowed to.
Here's the lead up:
South Australia is in lockdown, set to finish Tuesday at midnight. Our precious little footballers weren't allowed to train as they normally would, so as a collective they all hopped on a plane and went to Melbourne in Victoria, to train so they could run around playing with their balls and being happy little boys.
Melbourne is currently in a Covid crisis.
Not as Bad as the current Sydney crisis, but a crisis nevertheless and they are not in lockdown. Neither is Sydney.
Our boys are over there where it's possible a few of them, or even just one, could come into contact with said virus, especially if a fan of the opposite sex wanted to come visiting and do a little ball playing of her own. It happens. This puts the entire team at risk, meaning they may (or will) bring that sneaky little ball shaped virus back home to Adelaide where it will merrily bounce around creating more havoc.
So don't let them come home! They wanted to be there, let them stay there.
Or, let them first isolate for the required two weeks (not long enough in my opinion) and get tested three times and when they do get home isolate again and get tested again and again and again. (3 times). At the end of all that isolation, perhaps footy season will be over for this year and we can all breathe freely.
For a while.
