I have dry skin but my eyelids are oily. I wish it was the other way around, but instead of brooding over it, I try to find affordable and potent solutions for it. There are products by Urban Decay and Benefit for this purpose, however, they are expensive and come in tiny tubes. So I decided to invest in a better sized albeit expensive product. This post is the review of MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot – Layin’ Low.

My Experience with MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot Layin’ Low:
I love to wear eyeshadow every day; however, it requires some skill and it takes slightly longer to get dressed in the morning but if done with due diligence it, appreciably, enhances overall beauty.
My eyelids are very oily and it is hard to pack powder eyeshadows on my bare lids and even if I somehow manage to do that, the color eventually creases or vanishes after a few hours. This happens irrespective of the eyeshadow brand I use. To combat this situation, I decided to invest in a good eyeshadow base. Urban Decay was a more expensive choice so instead, I decided to go for a cream eyeshadow which can add color and act as a good base for my eye makeup.
With that in mind, I choose the shade Layin’ Low. There are 7 shades to choose from and they all are a variation of browns and coral with varying undertones. I chose Layin’ Low because it went well with my skin tone and didn’t wash me out. The color can be worn alone as well whereas shades such as Bare Study are too light for my skin color.
I like the pigmentation of this product – it is very dense and has a good color pay off. I have tried applying it using a dense brush, a sponge and my fingers and the best performance by achieved by my bare fingers. It is not easy to blend using a brush and a sponge soaks up most of the product.
The product comes in a glass pot (true to its name). It is easy to store and is travel-friendly. It has sturdy packaging and is not prone to breakage. Mac products can be pricey for some but those of us who are thrifty should cherry pick the products that work for us and are worth the money. Not every shade or product is for us – we should make a smart decision which suits our requirements.

Verdict:
It is a good cream eyeshadow which works equally well as an eyeshadow base and primer. The color is perfect for my skin tone and I do recommend it to others.
