Chloe x Halle looked like seasoned professionals as they attended the star-studded Spotify Best New Artist 2019 event at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles on Thursday night. After turning heads on the red carpet with their showstopping sense of fashion, sisters Chloe, 20, and Halle Bailey, 18, performed at the event.
Halle looked nothing short of sensational in a flowing pink, sleeveless gown with a cut-out waist.Styling her locks into an updo, the singer accessorised with silver, shimmering necklaces and added height to her frame with sheer, strappy heels with a red sole. Chloe stood out in an almost identical dress in black that also featured a cut out at the middle.She paired it with a matching stetson hat and accessorised with silver, beaded earrings. The talented duo later took to the stage and performed at the event, wearing matching silver metallic tops with a pleated detail and black pencil skirts.Their debut album The Kids Are All Right was released in March, 2018 and the sisters have been nominated for Best New Artist and Best Urban Contemporary Album at Sunday night's Grammy Awards. The duo first garnered attention after they began to post covers of pop songs to YouTube.
It was their rendition of Beyoncé's Pretty Hurts that caught the attention of the singer herself, as well as her label Parkwood Entertainment imprint in 2015. Their debut EP, Sugar Symphony, was released the following year while they also made cameo appearances in Beyonce's lauded Lemonade visual album.They later served as the opening act of the European leg of her Formation World Tour. Speaking to Essence about the honour, they said: 'We still feel like we're dreaming about the Grammy nominations. 'We're forever grateful, and know that no matter what happens, this honor, it will stay with us for the rest of our lives—and it just inspires us to keep going.'
