Scrubs are tricky things. I like a scrub with really hard granules in it where I can really feel like I am making a difference to my body. Scrubs are a great way to remove any dead skin, flakey-ness and to give the skin a boost!
I've been using a few at the moment so I decided to post about all the different scrubs I've been messing around with. I've also decided to pick a theme - wake up body scrubs!
You know when you have a shower and you feel half dead. Your tired, drained and have to head to work? Well, scrubs can help with that......
Molton Brown Warming Eucalyptus and Ginger body scrubThis is genius. I can't stop smelling it as I walk past the concession. While Molton Brown can seem expensive - this is a huge jar which should last ages. It smells strongly of Eucalyptus which clears your lungs and chest making it seem easier to breathe. It warms you up using a strong splash of ginger too. Perfect for winter mornings, cold mornings and mornings where you've smoked a twenty box and you don't feel too good!!!
The Body Shop Grapefruit ScrubNothing beats a good shot of citrus in the mornings and this is perfect. The Body Shop have many different versions of this in everything from chocolate to grapefruit to orange. I personally like this one and the raspberry version - which I had up until yesterday. It should cost you roughly about €20 for the larger pots but I suggest getting the smaller ones so you can swap them around more frequently. This also comes in a body cream as well - personally I am not a massive fan of the creams. I find them a bit too oily for my skin - but they work wonders when you have a night off and you can let it sink in overnight.
Yes to Tomatoes Clear Skin Pore ScrubThe problem with body scrubs is that they shouldn't be used on the face. The skin on your face is much more delicate then the skin on your body. While it shouldn't be neglected - it also shouldn't be subjected to harsh granules which are designed for arms and legs. This is where this product comes in. It's perfect for the face and helps to keep skin clear and glowing. This scrub is perfect for oil control as well if you suffer from oily skin. I however find it excellent for removing all traces of make-up from my face in the mornings. I would just avoid the eye area with any scrub as the skin there is far too delicate for any scrub - no matter how fine.
Soap and Glory, The Breakfast ScrubI road tested this with the boy recently. I wasn't sure what I thought of it as it smells like a dessert. It has oats, honey and bananas in it - that seem to make it smell like a very strong box of fudge! I don't know why but it does! The boy was delighted with it and kept sniffing it. I, on the other hand am also delighted as it has really hard granules which remove everything. The scent lingers on the skin too which is great. If your not into sugary smells then this one is best avoided - but its seriously worth a look.
